Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Taxi Vroum Vroum ("we," "us," or "our") provides private airport transfer and door-to-door transport services in Belgium and the Netherlands, including transfers to and from Brussels South Charleroi Airport, Brussels Airport (Zaventem), and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you book a ride with us — primarily through our WhatsApp booking service — why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By booking a ride with us, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
Taxi Vroum Vroum is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can reach us using the contact details at the bottom of this page.
2. Information We Collect
When you book a ride with us — most commonly through our WhatsApp booking service — we collect the following information directly from you:
- Phone number (your WhatsApp ID) — used to communicate with you about your booking and to identify you as the customer for that ride.
- Language preference — so we and your driver can communicate with you in the language you're most comfortable with.
- Pickup address — the location where you'd like to be collected.
- Drop-off address — your destination, such as an airport terminal, hotel, or private address.
- Requested pickup or departure time — so we can schedule your driver accordingly.
- Optional extra service requests — such as a baby seat, space for pets, or other special requirements you tell us about when booking.
- Third-party booking details — if you book through a partner platform such as GetTransfer, Booking.com, or a similar service, we also receive which platform you booked through and your reservation number, so we can match your booking to the correct reservation.
We do not ask for or collect payment card details, passwords, or any sensitive personal data through WhatsApp. If you voluntarily share additional information relevant to your ride — for example, a mobility requirement — we will only use it to accommodate that specific request.
3. Why We Collect Your Data
We collect and use your personal data for the following purposes, all of which relate directly to arranging and delivering your transfer:
- To arrange, confirm, and fulfill your transport booking.
- To contact you about your ride — for example, to confirm pickup details, notify you of a driver's arrival, or reach you if plans change.
- To calculate accurate pricing for your route, based on pickup and drop-off locations and any special requests.
- To match your booking with the correct reservation when you book through a third-party platform.
- To keep basic records of past bookings for customer service and accounting purposes.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not use it for marketing without your separate, explicit consent.
4. Who We Share Your Data With
We share only the information necessary to complete your ride, and only with the driver assigned to your booking — typically your pickup address, drop-off address, requested time, phone number, and any special requests (such as a baby seat). Your driver needs this information to find you, get you where you're going, and prepare the vehicle appropriately.
If you booked through a third-party platform (such as GetTransfer or Booking.com), we may share confirmation details back with that platform solely to confirm your reservation.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we never share more information than is necessary to complete your booking.
5. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain booking data only for as long as necessary to fulfill your ride and for a reasonable period afterward for basic record-keeping, customer service, and accounting purposes — typically no longer than 12 months from the date of your ride, unless a longer period is required by law (for example, tax or accounting obligations). After this period, your data is deleted or anonymized.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a customer located in the EU, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you can ask us what personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations.
- Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to object — you can object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Right to data portability — you can ask for a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.
To exercise any of these rights, simply contact us using the details below. We will respond to your request within one month, as required by GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your data has been mishandled.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Communication via WhatsApp is protected by WhatsApp's own end-to-end encryption for messages in transit.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
